SELLAFIELD
As of Monday 11th September Thompson's are scheduled to re-commence demolition works at Calder Hall.
Our Sellafield project team are working closely with British Nuclear Group to conduct preparatory demolition works prior to the controlled explosive demolition of four cooling towers. Initial works will include the laying of a temporary access road and excavator working pad.
Preparatory works will commence with the reduction of the towers culvert bridges using a long reach 360o excavator machine.
Thompson's are also scheduled to re-commence ancillary demolition works at Calder Hall. Proposed demolitions include the former C02 plant and associated structures, former oil storage tanks, stores buildings and a series of low level and prefabricated structures.
