Cameron Peel - Thompsons New Demolition Plant Apprentice

Following on from the success of our latest Demolition Apprentice, Tom Easby, Thompsons have once again joined forces with the National Demolition Training Group to appoint a new Apprentice.  Cameron Peel, from Corbridge in Northumberland, will be working closely with Thompsons Site Supervisor, Michael Lee, and his team of operatives.

Cameron is working with Michaels team at the Eldon Square (Sir Robert McAlpine) development site .  The team are conducting internal strip out and selected demolitions to allow the multi-million pound investment to progress at the shopping centre.  Cameron is gaining valuable experience and his Supervisor is impressed with his progress.

This summer Cameron will attend the National Construction College in Bircham Newton to sit the first part of a 16-week residential course.  The course combines practical plant training with classroom-based lessons. This will provide him with training that is essential to his progression in the demolition industry.  As his training progresses he will be issued with a CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) Card for Plant operations.  He will also undertake NVQ training to provide him with further work-based qualifications.

Thompsons wish Cameron the best of luck, and we look forward to working with him as his career develops!
